Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night , is an annual celebration held on the evening of 5th November to mark the failure of the Gunpodwer plot of 5th November 1605, in which a number of Catholic conspirators , including Guy Fawkes, attempted to destroy the Houses of Parlament in London. The occasion is primarily celebrated in Great Britain, to commemorate. the deliverance of the King of England, Scotland, and Ireland. It is also celebrated in some former British colonies including New Zealand, Newfoundland, South Africa, parts of the Caribbean and the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda. Bonfire Night was celebrated in Australia until the mid-to-late 1970s. |

Festivities are centred on the use of fireworks and the lighting of bonfires. At bilingual classes we made some crafts about fireworks and a big mural to remember one of the most famous rhyme:
Remember remember the fifth of November Sparkly Wax Fireworks Pictures
What do you think about Guy Fawkes? And about this party? Let's have a look at this video :

Traditional Bonfire Night Food As well as burning effigy of Guy Fawkes, the bonfires are used to cook jacket potatoes and sausages cooked over the flames and marshmallows toasted in the fire. Here there are some photos about our chestnut party and the roasted marshmallows, they were delicious!!!
