Wherever you look you see examples of structures. They occur in nature, and in the things which people make to solve problems to satisfy needs. There are many different kinds of structures, each designed to perform a particular job. A few examples are given here. To be successful, all structures however, must be capable of carrying the load for which they were designed without toppling over or collapsing and support the various parts of the object in the correct relative position.

All physical bodies or objects have a structure that enables them to mantain their shape and not break under the forces that act on them. A structure is the set of elements in a body that are intended to resist the effects of the forces that act on it. A structure prevents a body from breaking or becoming too deformed. There are two types of structures: Human-made structures and Natural structures.
