dia del jazz

On April 30 we celebrate International Jazz Day. Jazz music is important as an educational resource, because it promotes peace, dialogue and cooperation between different cultures.

We read the story "The Jazz Fly". It's about a fly who speaks jazz. "ZA-baza BOO-zaba ZEE-ZA Ro-ni?" he asks the animals he meets on the way to town. The animals speak different languages, and when the fly plays his drums that night, he recalls their sounds and he uses them in his music.

The kids loved imitating the animal sounds with instruments and hearing how the fly played his drums!
