FRIDA KAHLO AND KATRINAS. MEXICO. (SOUTH AMERICA)

Year 2 and 3 have been "travelling" to México and they have found out how they celebrate Halloween. Frida Kahlo and the so famous Katrinas have been a way to learn something about this country custom(the night of the dead). Finally they have designed their own Katrinas inspired in Frida's selfportrait

KATRINAS FROM SOUTH AMERICA (MEXICO)

Our 1st graders have been learning different things about Arts in Mexico. They learnt some facts about Frida Kahlo´s life, as one of the most important artists in this country. After that, as Halloween is coming, they draw, modelled and decorated different Katrinas as one of the most representative figures of this country (created in 1912 by the Mexican artist, José Guadalupe Posada).

Here you have some pictures about their making-process.

YAYOI KUSAMA FROM ASIA
