Prague

16284060788_a6648a3298_z (1).jpgPrague is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. After all the political changes of the early 1990's, the capital of the Czech Republic began to take advantage of its beautiful cultural and architectural heritage to attract more tourists than ever before.

Prague is not a big city and it is easy to move around on foot. Public transport is good and relatively cheap, but walking is the best option because it lets you appreciate buildings you wouldn’t see if you were on a bus or a tram.

It’s definitely true that Prague isn’t nearly as cheap as it used to be, and that it’s also very crowded if you follow the main tourist routes between the top sights, but that doesn’t mean that it is not a place you should visit.

Hotels in particular seem expensive here, though an abundance of affordable hostels helps a lot. Traditional Czech cuisine is not the healthiest in the world, as it can be a bit heavy for some visitors (forget about your diet here!); however it goes perfectly with the most popular Czech drink – beer!

Try to get away from the tourist restaurants with big English signs and you’ll find hearty local meals for very little money.
