Pocket money - Julian

I don't get any pocket money from my mother. She works very hard to pay all the bills and that is more than enough. I am sixteen and I work to earn my own money. Every day, from Monday to Friday , I work for two hours at a small shop near my house and at weekends I work in a café. I get about 5 pound per hour and that makes 100 pounds a week.

I pay for my clothes, top up my mobile every two weeks, go out with my girlfriend. I don't spend all the money, I am saving up to buy a motorbike. Every week I put 30 pounds into my bank account. I already have 600 pounds but I still need another 500.

I think it is very important that teenagers earn their own money because they learn it doesn't grow on trees. What's the point of working hard to earn money if you waste it as soon as you get it in your pocket.
